How long does the LED last?

The LED provides about 1 hour of consistent performance. *
Our experience shows that the LED lasts longer, but then may no longer achieve the same performance.

* Your newly purchased pen with LED does not harden within 15 seconds? Write us in the BLUFIXX live chat or send us an email to our customerservice info@blufixx.com and ask for a replacement LED!

How do I easily replace the batteries in the LED?

The batteries are removed best with a sharp object.

Does BLUFIXX only harden with the LED?

Other light sources can cure, but only the LED guarantees the optimal cure of BLUFIXX. Hold the LED as close as possible to the processed area without touching it.

I tried to glue two parts with BLUFIXX. That did not work. What can this be?

BLUFIXX is a universal repair gel for fixing, repairing and modeling. The LED immediately hardens it. BLUFIXX must not be compared with superglue.
For BLUFIXX to fully cure, the LED light must be able to cure the gel to 100%.
Our tip: "Cover" the two non-transparent breaking points of the part with BLUFIXX. This means you fix both pieces and cover the break with BLUFIXX. Now the LED can fully cure the plastic and the desired strength is achieved.

For how many applications last the 5g cartridge?

This always depends on the desired application. A BLUFIXX cartridge of 5 g offers about 120 drops, which corresponds on average to 50-120 applications, depending on the application. You fix a pipe damage with one tube, cable cracks e.g. you can repair about 15 times.

How long can I use BLUFIXX?

The cartridge lasts for about 5 years from the beginning. For this BLUFIXX needs to be stored protected from light at room temperature. It may happen after a longtime storage that the gel turns slightly light yellow. The BLUFIXX repair gel, unlike glue, does not harden or dry when in contact with air. Requisite is a light-protected storage.

How should BLUFIXX be stored?

Store BLUFIXX well-sealed in a cool and dry place and protect the product from moisture and dirt, heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature: 4 ° C to 40 ° C (40 ° F to 104 ° F).

Why does BLUFIXX not cure as described?

Make sure that the LED illuminates the applied plastic material completely. If no light comes to the plastic material, it does not harden.

How long does it take to cure BLUFIXX?

Under regular use BLUFIXX requires about 3-10 seconds to cure. Curing in color applications can take a few seconds longer.

For which surfaces can I use BLUFIXX?

BLUFIXX offers two separate product lines for optimum results on the respective surface: BLUFIXX MGS for metal, glass and stone, and BLUFIXX PW for plastic and wood.

For which plastics is BLUFIXX suitable?

Basically, BLUFIXX is suitable for all plastics. However, there may be differences in the adhesion of different plastics, so it is advisable to roughen the surface.

In which colors is BLUFIXX available?

For BLUFIXX MGS and BLUFIXX PW there are 6 colors each: clear (transparent), white, light brown, reddish brown, dark brown and black. For best color results, the colors can also be mixed (for example "black" with "white" for marble).

How can I work in 3D with BLUFIXX?

To use BLUFIXX three-dimensionally, apply BLUFIXX in layers. Each layer should not be thicker than 2mm (0.08”) and cured individually.

Up to what tensile force can BLUFIXX be used?

The tensile shear force for BLUFIXX MGS is as follows:
Glass-glass greater 5.2 N / mm²
Aluminum glass greater than 6.3 N / mm²
Steel glass larger 7.2 N / mm²

I would like to make my own "glass". Is this possible with BLUFIXX?

You can make a "glass pane" by applying BLUFIXX to a material that does not ship with it. For this purpose, silicone film is perfect. Depending on the size, make sure that the material does not warp. We recommend using a longer distance with the LED when curing to first to cure only the surface. Then cure completely.

Does BLUFIXX cause skin irritation in the liquid and cured state?

As stated in the product leaflet, skin irritation and allergic reactions may occur. BLUFIXX, however, is classified as "Not corrosive", in German: "non-corrosive". Therefore, if allergies to acrylates (or similar) are present, it is not recommended to work with this product.

What is the difference between BLUFIXX and glue?

Adhesive in general is an adhesive that can be used to rejoin two perfectly matched parts. However, glue cannot replace broken pieces and cannot model like a 3D material. In addition, adhesive cures quickly in the air and requires pressure to function. BLUFIXX also has adhesive properties, but the key difference is: BLUFIXX is a gel that repairs, replaces, models and isolates. And thanks to the LED at exactly the time you want it!

Can I use BLUFIXX for dental repairs in the mouth?

The idea for BLUFIXX came from the dental technology, but we advise against an application in the mouth. For BLUFIXX, there is currently no food test.

I would like to apply BLUFIXX in my aquarium. Does BLUFIXX harm the animals?

We do not have a food and feed law (LFGB) test for BLUFIXX. This test tells you whether materials are migrating from the adhesive and, if so, whether they are in a harmful concentration. Therefore, there is no comprehensive information as to whether BLUFIXX will be problematic for the fish when cured. Please renounce in case of doubt on the application of BLUFIXX.

My desired color does not exist in the BLUFIXX shop. Can I dye the gel before curing?

Yes, BLUFIXX can also be dyed with acrylic powder before curing. Pick up the color powder with the tip of a toothpick and mix with a drop of BLUFIXX. The curing can then take several seconds longer. Apply any layers thinner.
Good news: BLUFIXX will soon be available in even more colors!

Gute Nachricht: BLUFIXX wird es in bald auch in noch mehr Farben geben!

Can I use BLUFIXX on damp surfaces or under water?

Yes, you achieve the same adhesion, depending on the surface structure. However, the surface should only be wet, not greasy. You can e.g. place objects in a filled glass container.

Can BLUFIXX connect objects with extremely small contact areas?

Yes, BLUFIXX is excellently suited for extremely small surface connections made of almost all materials. Apply enough layers to achieve sufficient stability according to your expectations or constructions.

Can I cover objects with BLUFIXX to improve their stability?

Yes, the layering option allows overlaps and shells to be constructed. As a result, strength and stability are significantly improved or even made possible.

Is BLUFIXX suitable for isolation?

Yes, BLUFIXX is a perfect insulation material for low voltage applications. Please note that BLUFIXX is not a substitute for a solder and should not be used with heavy current.

Can BLUFIXX be used by children?

There is no danger of uncontrolled, dangerous skin adhesions. However, we recommend passing BLUFIXX to children only from the age of 12 years.

Will BLUFIXX also harden in places that can not be reached by the LED light?

No, to cure BLUFIXX, the exposure to the LED is essential. One of the two parts must be 100% translucent.

Can I seal vessels (e.g. cracks) with BLUFIXX?

Yes, BLUFIXX is ideal for sealing all materials. Work best in layers and make sure that the defect is completely and generously covered by the first layer. Further layers improve the result.

BLUFIXX PW does not last despite its correct application. Why is that?

Please check the composition of your item. BLUFIXX is not suitable for the following materials: PP, PT, PTFE and POM. These surfaces are very hard to bond due to their low surface structure.

Can I finish (polish, paint, drill) BLUFIXX after curing?

Yes, BLUFIXX can be finished later by all common measures. Use abrasive tools of any kind.

Does BLUFIXX withstand (prolonged) moisture?

Yes, BLUFIXX is resistant to water!

Are you allowed to rub BLUFIXX with spirit, turpentine, gasoline or alcohol?

BLUFIXX is not resistant to gasoline and turpentine. On prolonged contact with strong alcohol BLUFIXX becomes jelly-like or brittle.

The surface of the gel becomes wet and sticky after curing. What can I do?

The sticky layer (also called dispersion layer) after curing is normal. You can polish them off (we recommend polishing files for fingernails) or wipe them with a damp cloth or some oil. You can also use transparent nail polish.

How can I loosen two wrong glued, smooth parts again?

BLUFIXX is very difficult to dissolve when cured.

Try the following:

- Put alcohol on a cotton pad and place on the affected area. Cover the back of the cotton with foil so that the alcohol does not evaporate so quickly. Let it work for about 1-2 hours. Potions may be mixed with alcohol several times. The concentrated alcohol causes the cured plastic to become jelly-like. Depending on how thick you have applied BLUFIXX, the exposure time should be extended.

- We recommend a ceramic hob scraper. Give a short impulse from the side and BLUFIXX releases.

Is BLUFIXX elastic? Can it compensate or break expansion due to temperature fluctuations in the substrate?

When used properly, BLUFIXX hardens to a hard finish, comparable to Plexiglass. It is not stretchy or elastic. Temperature changes always depend on the size and size of the repaired area. If you have already bought BLUFIXX, give it a try!

Please write to us via info@blufixx.us your experiences!

What temperatures does the hardened BLUFIXX withstand?

BLUFIXX holds best in the temperature range between -40 to +140 degrees Celsius. At temperatures outside this range, undesirable changes in the gel may occur.

Is BLUFIXX dishwasher safe?

BLUFIXX is 100% waterproof after complete curing. Make sure the connection is strong enough to withstand the pressure in the dishwasher.

Does cured outdoor BLUFIXX change its texture?

The cured BLUFIXX can be permanently exposed to sunlight. Under certain circumstances, however, it may happen that the color changes slightly into a light yellow.
